During the National Press Club held on 20 August, the Minister for Disability, Mark Butler, announced the development of the Thriving Kids Program. This program is an early intervention program that targets children who have a mild to moderate autism or developmental delays.

The Thriving Kids Program is expected to start on 1st July 2026. And with this program, there will be changes that will directly affect children’s eligibility criteria under the NDIS. Those who are currently under the NDIS or who will join before the Thriving Kids Program rollout will be subject to reassessments.

According to reports, 1 in 10 children in Australia is under the NDIS, and around half of new scheme entrants are under the age of 9. To learn more about the Thriving Kids Program at teamdsc.co.au
