The Support at Home (SaH) program has officially commenced, bringing new responsibilities for aged care providers as the sector moves away from the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs. The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has outlined several important deadlines to guide providers through this transition.
By 7 November, providers must publish and confirm their pricing information, specifying rates for both standard weekday hours and non-standard hours such as weekends and public holidays. Service details must also be verified in the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal, with only valid SaH services remaining.
By 30 November, all outstanding Home Care Package claims for services delivered up to 31 October must be finalised, including any provider-held Commonwealth unspent funds. Missing this deadline may delay future claims for SaH services starting 1 December.
Providers are also required to update the common price for each service between 1 and 30 January 2026, review prices every two months, and report any updates in the portal within 30 days. February 2026 will mark the start of data collection for Assistive Technology and Home Modifications.
