NDIS Support will now become more accessible to First Nations people. They will be able to get trusted and local face-to-face help so they can better understand and get more help out of NDIS supports. This is through the NDIS expanding its Remote Community Connector program as they work with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
The Remote Community Connector will be supporting more than 500 communities throughout the country, including those in the Northern Territory, New South Wales, and Far North Queensland.
Remote Access Clinics will also be delivered by the NDIA for remote communities in Belyuen, NT, Carnarvon, WA, and Wilcannia, NSW. These connections will also help in the development of the First Nations Strategy Implementation Plan.
