In the past few years, the NDIA was recommended by the NDIS review to review its pricing strategy with the help of the IHACPA, or Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority. However, in September 2024, the NDIA also tasked the IPC, or Independent Pricing Committee, to review the pricing structure of the NDIS and also suggest reform.

The IPC recommends that the NDIA move away from a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to price caps. The reviewing body also made a report that has 4 proposed models for pricing. This includes having standard pricing limits, but also having higher prices for higher-value services. Another approach is having alternative prices that is paid across a group of participants.
There’s also an approach wherein services are commissioned by providers, but the IPC notes that it is up to the government which services should be funded. To check out all the proposed NDIS pricing by the Independent Pricing Committee in detail, visit teamdsc.com.au.
