The Aged Care Sector has seen major changes in the past few months as the new Support at Home Program has replaced the Home Care Packages program, as well as the Short-Term Restorative Care program.
According to reports, older Australians are more than welcoming the change and have embraced it. The Support at Home Program, which effectively started on 1 November, promotes a “Stay at Home Longer” message, encouraging older Australians to live independently.
The major goals of the Support at Home program include keeping people living in their own homes longer and ensuring they remain connected to their respective communities. The program also aims to provide well-being and health support to older Australians.
