A lot of changes have occurred due to the new price limits for certain NDIS services. Participants have been concerned with these, and one in particular is travel costs, as this seems to drain their funds faster.
According to the NDIS, therapy providers are able to claim half of the relevant price limit for the time that is spent travelling (starting on 1 July 2025). This, however, only applies to therapy providers but doesn’t apply to other support providers or Disability Support Workers.
Other travel claiming rules have not changed, such as all providers being able to claim non-labour travel costs. This includes parking fees, running costs of vehicles, and road tolls. Registered providers are also not allowed to charge participants gap fees. For more information on NDIS Travel Claiming Rules, visit ndis.com.au.
