With thousands of Australians with disability and their families, as well as carers and providers, having trouble with planning, the NDIS will make changes to their planning process by mid-2026. This approach will be called New Framework Planning and will be more consistent and fairer, plus easier for participants.
The law is planned to require a process that will focus on a person’s disability support needs as opposed to functional impairment. The New Framework Planning will be using a person-centred and strengths-based approach. It will also create more consistent and fairer budgets, all the while reducing the need for pricey reports. Plans should become simpler and also more flexible for NDIS participants.
