The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has released its new three-year pricing workplan, outlining how NDIS pricing will be reviewed and improved over time. The plan sets out a staged, evidence-based approach designed to support participant outcomes better while also strengthening market sustainability. It aims to respond to current market pressures without rushing decisions that could have wider system impacts.
In the first year, the workplan focuses on targeted pricing improvements where evidence already supports early action. At the same time, the NDIA will invest in research and pilot programs to inform longer-term pricing reforms. Each following year builds on the data, learnings, and progress of the year before, creating a cycle of continuous improvement grounded in real-world evidence.
The workplan was developed in collaboration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the Department of Health, Disability, and Ageing, alongside extensive consultation with governments, provider groups, and representative organisations. The NDIA has reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing, structured consultation to ensure pricing decisions reflect participant and sector experience while maintaining the integrity of the pricing system.Read the full workplan here
