By 1 October 2026, all NDIS and Supported Independent Living digital platform providers are required to be registered (or apply to register). This is a very important step, as participants will be required to move to a registered provider should their current provider be unable to accomplish registration. The NDIS will even help participants to better understand their options and offer to find new providers. Participants are also encouraged to ask themselves or their carers if their providers are registered or will be registering.
Digital platform providers are recommended to talk to their participants early on to let them know if they are registered or if they are planning to register before 1 October 2026. To learn more about this mandatory registration, head to ndis.gov.au.
