The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has granted aged care providers extra time to submit their first claims under the Support at Home program. Providers can now lodge claims for services delivered between 1 November and 31 December 2025 until 31 March 2026 without needing to submit late-claim documentation.

The extension follows industry feedback about the administrative pressure of transitioning to the new claiming process. Under Support at Home, providers must submit claims for delivered services through Services Australia, alongside adapting to new service lists, pricing structures and reporting requirements. Some providers were unable to fully test their systems before the program commenced.

The additional 30 days has been introduced as a transitional measure to ease early implementation pressures. The Department has confirmed that the standard 60-day claiming period will apply to all future quarters, with providers encouraged to ensure their systems and processes are ready as the program continues to roll out.
