The Federal Government has accelerated the rollout of an additional 20,000 Home Care Packages ahead of the Support at Home program, set to launch on 1 November 2025. As of early October, more than 6,600 packages have already been allocated, with the remainder on track for release in the coming months.
Minister for Aged Care and Seniors Sam Rae said the expansion will help meet rising demand, with the number of Australians receiving Home Care Packages expected to reach 320,000 by late 2025, double the figure from 2020. An extra 63,000 Support at Home places will also be made available by mid-2026.
