As NDIS participants reach the age of 65, many will experience what’s known as “ageing out” of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. This means their NDIS plan and funding come to an end, and support for daily living transitions to programs under My Aged Care — including the upcoming Support at Home system that will replace existing aged care packages.

To begin this process, participants or their representatives must notify the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) in writing of their decision to leave the NDIS. Once confirmed, individuals can contact My Aged Care to apply for services tailored to their needs — such as help with showering, dressing, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining independence at home.

As the sector prepares for the Support at Home reforms, many NDIS providers are seeking ways to simplify their operations, remain compliant, and continue delivering quality care without incurring additional costs. CareVision is helping lead this transition with a free version of its care management software, designed for care teams of up to 10 users.
