On 22 April 2026, NDIS Minister Mark Butler highlighted that there will be significant changes in support coordination operations, as well as 30% reduction in intermediary services funding. But the new bill that was tabled in parliament didn’t show major changes in support coordination. The government released the bill with an explanatory memorandum that shows possible futures for support coordination.
The first possibility is that the government will not make any changes at all. The second is that support coordination providers will be required to register mandatorily. Another option is that a new support coordination service will be commissioned, and it will have a funding cap. And finally, pretty much the same as the last one, but with lower funding.
