New Framework Planning is being introduced by the Australian government and is set to be used in mid-2026. NDIS participants need to know that as of today, there’s nothing to do as their current NDIS plans are still in place. Before anything changes, all participants will be updated, and if the participant is below 18 years old, they will not be part of the initial changes.

The NDIS new way of planning will have a support needs assessment, wherein a trained NDIS assessor will have a guided conversation with a participant to know more about his/her disability support needs. The aim of this is to allow a more flexible and fairer budget. The new way of planning will still be approved by trained NDIS staff, and not automated systems.
