Hon Bill Shorten, NDIS Minister, sworn in November 2022, officially stepped down from his position in January 2025. He has since been replaced by Amanda Rishworth as announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
A member of the Australian Labor Party, Hon Rishworth has a stellar background that can prove to be an advantage for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. She has been the elected member of Kingston in the House of Representatives since 2007. Currently, she is also the Minister for Social Services apart from being the NDIS Minister. Prior to these roles, she was a Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel, Shadow Minister for Youth, and Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education and Development.
Amanda Rishworth’s passion for improving Australian lives and being an advocate for affordable and accessible healthcare presents a very promising future for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
